An open source gazetteer constructed on ontological principles
GAZ is an open source gazetteer constructed on ontological principles and led by Michael Ashburner.
GAZ represents places through their names using an ontological approach to promote semantic coherence. All entities in GAZ can be treated as instances of environments (see the ENVO repository).
